Link exchange is a very widely underestimated way of building traffic and popularity. You can actually build up a good level of traffic by linking to decent, regularly updated blogs and sites, just by using an attractive anchor which will also help the spiders identify your site. The power of a link is massive. Links are, in essence, make your site important to search engines. More specific, links to your sites that have specific anchor texts. Search engines pick up on this, and list your site in accordance with what people have linked to it with - what works they’ve actually linked. For example, if I had a site, which everyone linked to with the words “Making Money Online“, this would help search engines such as Google identify my site to be in that category, and list it there. The more links with that anchor, the stronger my position in the search engines becomes.
