Myspace Marketing
Published July 23rd, 2007 in ArticlesThere are a lot of ways to take advantage of massive social networking sites such as Myspace, Hi5, and Tagged. There are people who offer marketing solutions based on spreading word of your site/product using their profiles which have amassed thousands of members from these social networks. Sometimes, marketing like this can be very effective, as social networks such as Myspace have groups, and it’s possible to search out a possible demographic to target. This makes the marketing very effective, as you are targeting the right kind of people for your site/product.
I’ve personally tried out Myspace marketing, and I have to say, it wielded some good results for an arcade I used to own. I purchased a package of bulletins, and comments (messages aren’t worth getting), and got them targeted to a certain audience (which were young, avid gamers). It worked out well, and gave the arcade a steady stream of traffic.
Sometimes though, the marketing doesn’t wield good enough results. If this happens, look at what your trying to market, and see if it corresponds with the audience you tried to target. A lot of the time, the way your bulletin or comments are worded could be the reason for poor results. Change, and try again. Rinse, and repeat, until you get it right. You’ll then have a very effective, and powerful way of advertising your website.
